Since closing my business a year ago (and not having the guts to wipe out my blog with a single phone call or push of a button on GoDaddy’s Host site….lol!), I occasionally feel the need to share things on it. (It makes it easier to keep it for random thoughts, random sessions and personal projects! DELETING is just way too permanent!)  I like to share things that make me happy and even though I am no longer taking clients as a business, I do occasionally get behind the camera for a few special people. I love it and miss it quite often, so getting out and shooting does wonderful things for my soul. It’s even better when I get to share these times with good friends! I wanted to wait until after the Holiday madness was over to post images from these December sessions so I didn’t ruin any holiday card surprises! Megan….thank you for trusting me to capture your memories of your adorable family. So many cute moments from our session and her kiddos couldn’t be any more adorable!

My blog has been quite lonely lately, but I have picked up my camera a little more lately after not taking clients for over a year. I will admit… feels good. It feels good to take photos of things that I love and this post is of my nieces and nephew Halloween experience. I love that I was able to share it with them and capture the cuteness. I love the closeness of our family, my sisters and how wonderful these kids are. They are being raised to be such thoughtful, nice, and loving human beings. That is what the world needs right now. I won’t turn this into an ugly political post as you can just open Facebook  to witness the ugliness, the hate, and the separation occurring. I won’t take part in it. Instead I will choose to keep raising my kids to be nice people, to have kind words, to be strong in their opinions, but to have understanding and integrity and the ability to have conversations with those who disagree. I already know where my oldest son (he’s 18)  stands politically because we TALK and while we don’t agree on every topic that we discuss, we talk and share thoughts and we are closer because of this. So here are my suggestions to you……stop sharing the HATE, the mean-ness, the ugliness that you are SO AGAINST. Do something that makes you proud…..volunteer for something you feel strongly for, continue to show your children love at home and how to treat others with respect no matter,  show them what it means to have compassion and integrity, teach them how to have conversations and communicate with others in a respectful way, and most of all be the example that you want them to see.

Ok…….the above might have some political undertones…..but you get my point. I am thrilled to show off my nieces and nephew and think this younger generation will see some great things in our nation and in their futures! But for right now, I give you Hermione (Scarlet), Miss Nerd (Elliot) and a “not very scary Werewolf” (Charlie).

I’m a lucky girl……I’m lucky in that where ever I have landed, I get to meet so many beautiful people…..both inside and out! Meet the Machos family….friends, neighbors and just cool people in general!  We met up right before Halloween. The trees were still showing off their fall colors and it couldn’t have been more perfect weather! Here’s just a few of my favorites of the many from their session! (I had sooooo many favorites!)

I really mean it…..I can’t even believe that I am posting photos of my son, Jack, before his last (sniff….sniff) high school homecoming dance. I remember a little guy that loved chocolate milk, Batman was his world, he had many best friends in pre-school even if he didn’t even know their names, he was an explorer of everything, and a great helper to his mom. I miss those days, but am so proud of the young man he has become. He hangs with a great group of friends and I was lucky enough to get to take all of their photos before Eagle High School’s Homecoming dance last week.

Meet Rylan……he was just a little, but mighty guy!! He barely made a peep during our session! He was such a perfect little guy who made a surprise entrance into the world at 32 weeks old. He was 4 pounds and 16.5 inches long when he arrived and had grown to almost 6 pounds on the day of our session.  They day we shot his session was his due date (Mother’s Day!!)  and it couldn’t have been more perfect! He was 51 days old in these images.
